Online orders and Shipping:

How much is shipping?
We have a flat rate of $15 for postage.  Our chocolates are delicate and perishable in nature so we ship all our order with Australia Post express shipping.

When will my order be shipped?
If you order before 12pm on Monday to Thursday, we will ship your order the same day.  If you order after 12pm on Thursday, we will store your order until Monday to ensure it is not sitting in unsuitable storage over the weekend and is in fabulous condition upon delivery. 

When will I receive my order?
Once shipped you should receive your order in 1-2 business days. Please allow 1-4 days during busy postal periods.

Can I return my order?
Cocobean does not exchange or refund goods due to the perishable nature of chocolate, so please order carefully.

Can I get a refund?
Cocobean can only refund your order if it has not yet been shipped. 

Where are my orders shipped from?
From our store in lovely Launceston, Tasmania.

I have a question about my online order, who can I talk to?
Please email us at shop@cocobeanchocolate.com.au and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Does Cocobean ship internationally?
No, our chocolates are too delicate for an overseas trip, sorry.

Can I order from another country and have it delivered within Australia?
Absolutely.
  

Caring for your chocolates:

How can I store my chocolates?
Our single chocolates and truffles are best consumed within two weeks. The chocolates remain their decadent best if kept in a cool, dry place.  They should be stored away from strong aromas, direct light and sticky fingers.

Can I store my chocolates in the fridge?
We do not recommend storing your chocolates in the fridge but if you have no other choice we suggest that you keep them in their original packaging, wrap them in plastic wrap then pop them in an airtight container. Remove from the fridge in their wrapper at least an hour before eating so the chocolate reaches room temperature. The chocolate will then be at it’s most delicious.

Why has my chocolate turned white?
Chocolate turns white when cocoa butter within the chocolate has separated and pushes the fat out to the surface.  It is called chocolate bloom or sugar bloom and is due to incorrect storage. Even though it doesn’t look very nice, chocolates with sugar bloom are safe to eat.

What is couverture?
Couverture is high quality chocolate that contains a minimum cocoa butter – usually about 32%.  This and tempering chocolate give couverture that perfect snapping sound when it is broken in two.

Does Cocobean use fair trade chocolate?
No. However, we have a strong belief in ethical treatment of workers and their families, so we ensure the European chocolate companies that we use work together with their farmers to provide good quality cocoa beans, in fair conditions and for a good price.

Why is your shelf life so short?
We make small batch handmade chocolate made with cream and butter and without preservatives.  Our chocolates have a limited shelf life so that you can enjoy them at their optimal taste. If you would like a longer shelf life try something from our chocolate coated, bar, bark or hot chocolate range.

Is your chocolate gluten free?
Most of our chocolates are gluten free, you can check what is in your chocolates by checking the packaging label or if you purchased a box of chocolates you will find the pictures of your chocolates and the allergens here
